Get a second offer on your junk car

Already have an offer for your junk car? Send Junk Cars Buyers High Offer, junk car buyers in Chicago, the same details you gave that buyer and we'll call within 15 minutes with our own number, with towing and payment spelled out, so you can put the two side by side. We don't promise to beat it. We promise a straight number for your car.

Get our number

Step 1 of 2

Two short steps: your car, then how to reach you. All fields are required.

Step 1: your car

Free towing. You're paid at pickup.

Is it worth getting a second offer on a junk car?

Yes, if the first offer is still open. Offers for the same junk car can differ because buyers value different things: some price the metal, others the parts or a resale. A second quote takes a few minutes, and comparing both on the same terms shows you which one is actually worth more.

The catch is “on the same terms”. Two numbers aren’t comparable just because they’re both in dollars. One might have a tow fee coming out of it. One might be “up to” a figure that depends on an inspection. One might be paid on the spot and the other “processed” later. Until you’ve asked the same questions of both, you don’t know which is higher.

Make the comparison fair

Here’s the sheet we’d use if we were selling. Fill in one column per buyer.

Question First buyer Second buyer
Amount quoted for this car, as described
Does a towing charge come out of it?
When am I paid?
How am I paid?
What could change the amount at pickup?
How long does the offer stand?
Amount I’d actually receive

The bottom row is the only one that matters, and you can’t fill it in without the rows above it. Our guide on how to compare junk car quotes goes through each row and what a good answer sounds like.

One rule makes the whole sheet work: give both buyers identical details. Same year, make and model. Same answer on the title. Same description of what runs, what’s damaged and what’s missing. If you told the first buyer “runs but rough” and tell us “doesn’t run”, the numbers aren’t measuring the same car.

What we’ll tell you on the call

These are the rows we can fill in for you before we even speak:

  • Towing: free. Nothing comes off the offer for it.
  • When you’re paid: at pickup, when the car is collected.
  • How you’re paid: in cash, or by Zelle, Cash App or another digital payment.
  • How long it stands: it doesn’t expire.
  • Pickup timing: often the same day.
  • Title: no title? We can still help. Say which papers you do have: a bill of sale, the registration, an insurance card. Illinois law, not us, decides which of those can stand in for a title on a scrap sale, and we’ll tell you where you stand when we call.

The amount comes on the call, because it depends on the car. We call within 15 minutes of your request.

When the first offer is the better one

Sometimes it will be. If the other buyer’s number, after any tow fee, is higher than ours and they’ll pay when they collect the car, take it. We’d rather you sold for more than sold to us.

What you’re watching for is the offer that only looks higher. A big number with a vague answer about towing. A price that “depends on what the driver sees” with no explanation of what they’d be looking for. Payment “in a few days”. Those aren’t necessarily scams, but each one is a reason the amount you’re handed could be lower than the amount you were told. The red flags guide lists the warning signs one by one.

Don’t let a deadline decide for you

A buyer who says the offer is only good for the next ten minutes is telling you something about the offer. There are real reasons offers move (scrap metal prices change, a buyer’s yard fills up), but a fair buyer can usually give you enough time to make one more call.

If you’re reading this with a quote in hand, send us the same details now. You’ll have a second number to lay beside the first one, and you’ll know which is worth more. We’re junk car buyers in Chicago and we pick up across the city and the suburbs.

Quick answers

Will you match or beat the other offer?

We don't match or beat offers. You get our own number for your car, and you decide which is better once both are laid out the same way.

Do I have to tell you what the other buyer offered?

No. The form asks about your car and how to reach you, nothing about other quotes.

What if the first buyer wants an answer right now?

A fair offer can wait long enough for a second quote. If it can't, that's worth noticing. Our red flags guide covers pressure tactics.
